Alternate Assessment 

  • Test Coordinator (SANDI/FAST & NYSAA) - I oversee all training, professional development and testing and ensure we meet the district and state deadlines
  • ELL/MLL Liaison - complete the LAP and monitor compliance

Aveyron Academy

  • First Assistant Principal for Aveyron Academy
  • Part of the interview and hiring process of new staff
  • Created an Instructional Focus Calendar and Professional Development Calendars
  • In conjunction with a wonderful team, was instrumental in building the site to 90 students
  • Excellent student attendance
  • Ensured curriculum, instruction, assessment, and resources were effective 
  • Revamped all 6:1:1 to resemble the TEACCH model
  • Planned many MPPR and a Quality Review (the principal and school were highly effective)
  • Supported our inclusion sight at Urban Action Academy
  • Instituted Service Learning Program for our co-located schools
  • Monitored, coached, observed and provided meaningful and actionable feedback to teachers
  • Created classroom work specialties so our students could receive real-world vocational training
  • According to Dana Bertisch, "Aveyron Academy has become one of our most requested programs in Brooklyn."
  • Wrote proposal and oversaw conversion of Home Living Environment Room
  • Participate in the co-located Building Council
  • Supported staff transitioning from in-person to remote learning through detailed instructions on creating a Google Classroom, expectations for teaching and learning remotely, creating documents for data collection, and continuing to support staff with resources

Aveyron STEAM Academy

  • Started the site with a small skeletal crew
  • The site required a lot of construction, which I oversaw
  • Ensured timeline was met and we opened on schedule
  • Interviewed and made offers for employment for new staff
  • Create independent work task boxes for student use
  • Supported staff and students/families with transition to remote learning
  • Continue to support the staff with Professional Development, teacher observations and feedback and participating in the co-located Building Council

Transition to Remote Learning
