ELCC 1.2 & 1.4
 Data & School Progress

Data drives instruction, improves instruction, it informs, it engages, and it creates opportunities for leaders to move students to the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).   Data is a mainstay of my leadership duties as Assistant Principal.  I do not base my decisions on my opinions or the opinions of others, but rather on data.
  • Compliance Coordinator responsible for improving our overall compliance
  • Created an Instructional Focus Calendar for our alternate site teachers based on data from how well our students were doing on SANDI/FAST and NYSAA assessments
  • Classroom data, Social-Emotional Learning data and assessment data were used to move 20 students to LRE
  • Used data to ensure our English Language Learners were grouped according to their levels and that they were receiving the language instruction they needed
  • Assessment Coordinator for all alternately assessed students (SAND/FAST and NYSAA)
  • Use of PIL charts (SANDI) for student groupings
  • Model the analysis of data to inform instruction through the inquiry process (Inquiry Team)
  • Model the analysis of data to inform best practices for teachers (feedback from observing teacher lessons)
  • Make frequent checks in Google Classrooms to ensure students are being provided rigorous synchronous and asynchronous instruction, and that teachers are using data gathered from student work to inform their instructional practices (differentiation)
  • Using data to proof Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for accuracy and clarity
  • Use data to ensure our English Language Learners received their mandated services
  • I scour data to create a plan for meeting our School Comprehensive Education Plan (CEP) goals
  • I create and monitor progress data collection for students' IEP goals and behavior goals
